What we did
The brief
This is our own website, so we were our own client. We wanted it to do exactly what we ask of client projects: load fast, get found by people looking for web and app development in Croatia, and move a visitor towards a concrete enquiry rather than a vague “get in touch”.
The second requirement was two languages. Part of our enquiries come from outside Croatia, so the English version could not be a translation bolted on afterwards. It had to be an equal part of the site.
The approach
We built the site around the questions a potential client has before the first conversation: what do you do, roughly what does it cost, how does working together look, and what have you built so far. Each of those questions has its own page: Services, Pricing, Process and References.
Pricing is public. Instead of “price on request”, the packages are listed with starting prices, and a calculator gives a rough range for a specific project in about a minute. People who get in touch already know the range, so the first call does not spend time on it.
The main call to action does not lead to an empty contact form but to a questionnaire. The client ticks what they need (website, online store, app, automation, identity), whether they already have a site and a logo, their main goal, the features they expect, a rough budget and a deadline. By the first conversation we already know what the project is and can reply with a concrete proposal.
The blog answers the questions people actually type into search: what a website or an online store costs, how long a build takes, whether a small business needs a site, WordPress or Astro.
What we delivered
- Croatian at the root and English under /en, with correct
hreflangtags, and a language switch that keeps you on the same topic instead of sending you to the homepage - Pages for five services: web development, mobile apps, AI and automation, brand and design, and business consulting
- Public pricing with a calculator and a machine-readable version of the price list in CSV and XML
- A project intake questionnaire
- A references page with a separate case study for each project
- A blog with 17 articles in Croatian and 16 in English
- Structured data for the organisation, breadcrumbs and FAQs
- A cookie notice where analytics can be declined and the site works the same either way
Technology
The site is built with Astro, which generates static HTML ahead of time. There is no database to fall over and no plugins to update every month. It is served through Cloudflare’s network, and a new article or a price change simply means publishing the site again, with nobody touching a server by hand. The sitemap currently lists more than seventy URLs across both languages.
The outcome
The site is live at mfbsolutions.hr, and you are on it right now. Maintenance comes down to publishing content, and enquiries that come through the questionnaire carry enough context for us to answer with a proposal instead of another round of questions.
You can check all of it yourself: open any sub-page, switch languages, try the calculator or measure the load time. It is also the most honest sample of our work, because we do the same things on our own site that we would do on yours.
