Veya: wedding vendor marketplace and planner

The brief

Veya is an MFB Solutions product, not client work. We did the research, design, copy, application and launch ourselves.

Planning a wedding in Croatia is scattered across Facebook groups, word of mouth and phone enquiries. A couple has no idea who is free on their date or what anything really costs, while the guest list, budget and vendor arrangements live in spreadsheets, notes and WhatsApp groups. Vendors, for their part, lose time on enquiries that go nowhere.

We wanted one place where a couple finds their vendors and then plans the whole wedding in the same spot.

The approach

The product has three parts that lean on each other.

The first is the vendor marketplace. Couples browse fourteen categories, from venues, photographers and music to cakes, suits and transport, filter by city and budget, and compare packages, prices and reviews. Sign-up is free and unlocks prices and contact details. Enquiries go straight to the vendor, and the agreement and payment stay between the couple and the vendor, with no middleman.

The second is the planner for couples, which is free. Once they have found their vendors, the couple can use the same app to manage the guest list with RSVPs, a budget covering every deposit and expense, checklists for each stage of planning, a vendor overview and a seating plan built by dragging guests into place. Both partners see the same data in real time, and a setup wizard walks them through the first steps.

The third is the vendor module: a profile with a gallery, packages and prices, enquiries from couples, an availability calendar, reviews and view statistics. A vendor maintains one profile that is also their marketplace listing, so there is no double entry. There is a free starter plan and several paid plans.

What we delivered

• A vendor marketplace in fourteen categories, with public profiles and search
• A wedding planner: guests and RSVPs, budget, checklists, vendors, seating plan and a countdown to the day
• A vendor module with profile, packages, enquiries, calendar and statistics
• A dedicated page for wedding planners who manage several couples at once
• A QR photo cloud: guests scan a code on the table and send photos and video to the couple’s private album, with no app to install and no sign-up, and the couple downloads everything in one go
• An interface in Croatian and English
• Legal pages, including a refund policy
• Structured data for search engines, including an application description and site search
• A mobile app for iOS and Android from a single codebase, published on Google Play

Technology

The application is written in React and TypeScript, the public site is separate, and Supabase handles the database and user sign-in. The mobile app is built with Expo, so iOS and Android share the same code and do not drift away from the platform as it grows.

The outcome

The platform is live at veyawedding.eu, and the Android app is on Google Play. A couple can sign up for free, browse vendors by category and plan the wedding in the planner, while a vendor can open a profile and start receiving enquiries. The whole product, from research to launch, was built inside MFB Solutions.
